Dotflac Four stretched out drones as four expressions of existential crisis. Four hoarse compositions for as much manifestos of relative determinism.

Each track is an ambivalent ordeal balanced between resolution and dissolution, torn apart sheer light and broad night. But the progression of the album hints a beginning at the bottom of a mountain and leaves a slight hope that we reach its top near the end.

The conclusion of this sonic epic stays in our hands though, free to rise above or crash below. Favorite track: Everything Is Not Alright.

about

Long-form droners Björn Granzow (The End Of The World Championship) and Steve Fors (Aeronaut, The Golden Sores) team up as Shovels Beat The Sun. Their debut release, Sky Wires, was recorded at Granzow’s home studio in Sennfeld, Germany in winter 2015.

Utilising cello, lap steel guitar, synthesizers, processed trombone, and electronics as sound sources, Granzow and Fors weave haunting melodies with straight-up chaos—producing a four-song album of angst and melancholia.
